August 28, 2025The WBJEE 2025 counselling process has commenced at wbjeeb.nic.in/wbjee for admissions to B.Tech, B.Arch, and B.Pharm courses. Candidates can complete registration, fee payment, choice filling, and locking until September 1, 2025. The seat allotment results will be announced on September 3, 2025.
August 28, 2025GATE 2026 registration is now open at gate2026.iitg.ac.in for admission to M.Tech and research programs. Candidates can submit their applications without a late fee until September 28, 2025, while the deadline with a late fee is October 9, 2025. The examination is scheduled to be conducted on February 7, 8, 14, and 15, 2026, in two sessions.
Aliah University Overview
Aliah University Kolkata is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), the University Grant Commission (UGC) and the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE). The admission for various courses are primarily conducted through the Aliah University Admission Test (AUAT), with merit-based entry available for selected programmes. For BTech admissions, the university also accepts WBJEE scores in addition to the AUAT. Aliah University Application Process 2025
Candidates who want to apply for Aliah University admissions must apply online through the university’s official website. The steps to apply are:
- Visit Aliah University’s official website and go to the admission section.
- Fill in the online application form with all required details.
- Upload scanned copies of necessary documents.
- After submitting the application, a confirmation PDF with your photo and signature will be generated.
- Download and print this confirmation sheet and keep it safe for future use.

Aliah University Kolkata placement reports has yet to release for 2024. However, based on the NIRF report 2024 for the 2023 placement season, 137 BTech students and 24 MTech students successfully secured jobs through campus placements. The median salary package for BTech students was INR 4.15 lakh per annum, while MTech graduates received a median package of INR 4.50 lakh per annum.

Aliah University campus is equipped with modern facilities and excellent infrastructure. It has all the facilities of a modern university.
Hostel
Aliah University offers residential facilities at affordable cost. There are separate hostels for boys and girls. There is an eight storied hostel building. Students get admission here on the basis of merit.
Central Library
The library in Aliah University started functioning in 2010 in Saltlake. The three university campuses at Newtown, Taltala and Park Circus have separate libraries. The students have access to popular magazines, journals, theses, e-books, reports, e-journals and online databases in Sciences, Humanities, and Social Sciences. The Newtown Library deals with Engineering and Technology, Management, Pure Science and Biological Science collection while the Park Circus library covers the collection on Humanities, Nursing, Law, Education etc. The oldest library situated at the Taltala campus has rare books on Islamic theology, Jurisprudence, Law etc.

There are sports facilities for students. Students can freely take part in sports activities. The university encourages students in extracurricular activities.
Aliah University Scholarships
Aliah University does not offer scholarships. Aliah University students can avail of scholarships provided by UGC and the state. The scholarships include minority scholarships to students belonging to the SC, ST and EWS categories. Merit cum means scholarships are also offered.

Aliah University Admission Test (AUAT) 2025
AUAT is a national-level entrance examination conducted by Aliah University for UG, PG and integrated course admissions. Total 533 seats are available for UG courses and 1022 seats are available for PG courses.
Eligibility Criteria for AUAT
- For B.Tech courses candidates must have completed class 12 with PCM.
- For B.Tech lateral entry, candidates must have a diploma in Engineering with 60%.
- For five years BA-MA and B.Sc-M.Sc course, candidates must have completed class 12.
- For M.Tech, candidates must have completed B.E/B.Tech with 6.5 DGPA.
